Research Interests
My key area of interest within astronomy is asteroseismology (the study of oscillations in stars), and in particular solar-like oscillations in red giant stars. I am currently working on the NASA led Kepler project http://www.physics.usyd.edu.au/~stello/Kepler.html which seeks to detect true Earth like planets (of the size of Earth in Earth like orbits around Sun like stars). Other projects I am involved in are Small Irait and Gattini, two telescopes in Antarcica that are able to observe 24 hours per day in winter, making them ideal for asteroseismology.
